The existing Congress Heights bus and rail station is getting upgraded to provide an improved passenger experience. The access road to the site is being re-route to improve alignment with surrounding roads improving the traffic flow in the area. Working with WMATA, Leuterio Thomas is incorporating design standards for the bus loading areas, bus shelters, trash receptacles, benches, and walkways. These elements are integrated with the existing infrastructure and metro rail entrance to provide a seamless experience that improves the appearance of the station.
