The project required converting a portion of an existing data center into occupied workspace with new mechanical systems and separate fire and smoke zones. Because the facility remained operational, the integration of the EOC required detailed construction planning and clearly defined procedures for each phase of work.
The design focused on maximizing the existing space while upgrading the interior environment. Architectural expression was achieved through lighting design and the integration of audiovisual systems, including the use of smart glass to create a transition between the conference room and the EOC.
The upgraded operations center delivers a highly coordinated environment where lighting, audiovisual systems, and building controls work together to support real-time information management. Construction was fast-tracked with work occurring seven days a week, allowing the project to be completed on schedule and within budget while meeting the client’s operational goals.
