A prestigious site located on the banks of the Anacostia River adjacent to the Nationals Baseball Stadium deserves an extraordinary design that encompasses the character of DC Water, its commitment to the environment and a respect for the historical nature of the site. LT is providing both structural and architectural services for the LEED Platinum submission. The foundations and structure are unique as the underground utilities provide only six locations for the foundations to touch the ground requiring the upper portions of the building to be carried on a four story truss. LT was tasked with the challenging task of designing these foundations, the ground floor slab and the monumental stair. For the architecture, LT is tasked with the renovation and integration of the historic pump house and the interior ceilings for all of the building coordinating with the furniture layouts, lighting, HVAC and other disciplines utilizing BIM REVIT linked to the main model through the internet.
