project scope

LT provided architectural and engineering design services for the canopy renovation. The work included removing the existing roofing membrane, ballast, built-up roofing, and supporting tapered insulation.

The replacement assembly uses lightweight concrete and expanded polystyrene boards to recreate the existing drainage slopes. The existing roof drains will be replaced with new drains providing equivalent flow capacity.

our solutions

Maintaining the existing drainage design allowed the project to reuse the canopy’s rain leaders, reducing unnecessary modifications to the surrounding drainage infrastructure. New lightweight concrete and EPS boards will establish the required slopes while limiting additional weight on the existing structure.

The existing steel domes will also be removed, retained, and reinstalled after the new roofing assembly is completed. This approach preserves a defining feature of the canopy while renewing the underlying roof and drainage systems for improved long-term performance.
