Leuterio Thomas prepared design intent drawings and a cost estimate for the renovation and expansion of the Vivarium and core imaging laboratory at the Beltsville Research Facility for the FDA. The project involved renovating an existing 10,000-square-foot research facility and adding approximately 3,000 square feet to accommodate CVM animal areas, CT X-ray spaces, updated laboratories, and CDRH offices. The design was developed to a level of detail sufficient to support an accurate cost estimate for the project’s funding request, while addressing current code compliance and sustainability considerations throughout.
