Leuterio Thomas is providing design services to translate PLC’s mission into a physical environment that supports learning, healing, mentorship, and personal development.
The design process considers how the center’s spaces can accommodate academic rehabilitation, counseling and support services, career and post-secondary preparation, and opportunities for positive social connection.
The center is being designed around the understanding that vulnerable students need more than access to educational resources. They also need consistency, safety, dignity, and spaces that recognize the emotional and behavioral challenges affecting their ability to learn.
LT is working with PLC to create an environment that feels supportive rather than institutional, while providing the flexibility needed for individualized instruction, group activities, counseling, and future programming. By aligning the design with PLC’s trauma-informed approach, the center will help foster care youth strengthen their academic foundations and pursue college, vocational education, military service, and other meaningful career opportunities.
