LT is providing architectural design, landscape integration, and master planning services for the five-unit retail building. The team is coordinating the building’s placement, elevations, pedestrian approaches, and relationship to the linear park and surrounding development.
LT also developed a virtual model and photorealistic Lumion renderings to support the planning submission. The presentation materials include individual views and a walkthrough illustrating the building within its proposed landscaped setting.
The primary design challenge was to make the retail building feel connected to the linear park rather than placed alongside it. LT used the building’s orientation, pedestrian routes, landscape features, and visual cues to create a natural transition from the residential area into the retail environment.
The virtual model allowed the team and client to evaluate the building elevations and surrounding landscape together during concept development. Photorealistic views communicate the project from a pedestrian perspective, showing Planning Board reviewers how residents will approach the retail area and experience the journey through the park.
By integrating architecture, landscape, and master planning, the design creates a more cohesive development in which the route to the retail area is intended to be as engaging as the destination itself.
